Three Brothers with ALD come to University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital for Treatment
The boys have adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD, a rare condition that affects boys. The two older boys are now undergoing bone marrow transplants at the hospital. Our doctors are monitoring the youngest brother, still a toddler, for potential future treatment. The family has moved from Oregon to the Twin Cities so that there boys can receive BMT treatment here. Their mom says, "We had to come to Minnesota to see the best doctor to help them get over this."
