Dr. Linda Burns developed an interest in becoming a hematologist while working as the supervisor of the hematology clinical laboratory at the University of Missouri-Columbia. This interest intensified during her internal medicine residency when she began to study blood and marrow transplantation (BMT).  Dr. Burns states that through the rest of her medical training, “I never found another area I loved as much as transplant. “  Today, Dr. Burns continues to show her passion for BMT through her care for leukemia and lymphoma patients, her innovative research and her leadership — both at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview and at a national level.
